...HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS EXPECTED WITH WIDESPREAD BLACK ICE THIS MORNING... .Although the wintry precipitation has ended across the region, many secondary roads remain snow and ice covered, especially across western North Carolina. Temperatures will have fallen below freezing overnight. This allowed most secondary and untreated roadways to re-freeze, leading to widespread black ice. Conditions will improve after sunrise as temperatures climb back above freezing.
